My son who is in the US is coming back to India for just 15 days and intends to get married. How shall he register for marriage.Rules for Registration of Marriage for a person staying abroad and coming home just for 15 days. Please advise?
If your son is a Hindu %26amp; getting married to Hindu lady according to Hindu Marriage Ceremonies then he can get his marriage registered in one day time under section 8 of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 with the Registrar of Marriages who is usually the Tehsildar/SDM of the District where the parties to the marriage usually reside %26amp; their marriage is solemnized. The proof of age %26amp; residence along with two or more witnesses with identity proof, proof of marriage (wedding card, two/three photographs of marriage ceremonies, certificate of priest/temple) %26amp; passport size photographs will be required for the purpose of registration. Engage a sensible lawyer (at least if you guys are living in Mumbai/Maharashtra) for all this job of Marriage registration.Rules for Registration of Marriage for a person staying abroad and coming home just for 15 days.
