So what if your marriage was solemnized in the Church %26amp; you got only the Marriage Certificate issued by the Church. The Christian Marriage Act,1872 recognises all the Marriages as legal which are between parties at least one of whom is Christian being married by the Priest having licence to perform the Christian Marriage in India. As far the issue of divorce is concerned the parties can seek decree of divorce under the Divorce Act,1869 on any of the grounds such as cruelty,adultery,change of religion,desertion etc as provided under section 10 of the Act or even get by filling joint petition for divorce by mutual consent under section 10-A of the Act.How easy is it to get a divorce if the marrige is not registered and has just a church marriage certificate?
