Marriage?????

what is the God given structure for marriage?

what is the sinful direction?

what is the proper direction?Marriage?????
Adam and Eve are the prototype for marriage - man and woman. This is the foundation for a life long covenant.

Our Lord Jesus Christ showed the Sacramental nature of marriage at the wedding of Canna.

The sinful direction is practicing contraception and not being open to new life. Divorce and remarriage are another sinful practice.

The proper direction is elevating your partner above yourself. 'Husbands love your wives, wives obey your husbands.' This shows that good order leads to happiness.

Hope that is what you are looking for!

Jin JuMarriage?????
Marriage is a lawful union between two people. at the moment it is restricted to Man and Woman unions. but that will change soon.
Okay this is going to be a tricky question to answer because this varies by faith.

According to Roman Catholic views:

Marriage is a man and a woman joined together in body and soul from the moment they take their vows until death parts them. The ceremony is just a way of having their union officially recognized in the eyes of the Church and God.

The sins are divorce (since only death can part you. Usually a divorce results in excommunication of the two that are getting divorced), use of contraceptives (';every sperm is sacred'; - Monty Python) and adultery (since you vowed to stay faithful to that one person no matter what).

According to the church, once married, a man and a woman are to live together and have children, create a loving family of their own. Of course everyone must be Catholic and the children must go through their sacrements as they age so they too may be excepted into the Catholic way of life. Anyone who does not follow this path, as in homosexuals (they can't have families of their own nor be Catholic in the eyes of the Church) and those who marry into other faiths (because that means not everyone is Catholic) can not be married by the Roman Catholic Church.

My views:

I believe marriage is a ceremony like the Catholics where one stays married to that person until Death parts the two. However, I also believe that if there is an extreme case such as abuse of one partner or the children, then divorce is certainly in order.

The sinful direction to me is someone getting married because they love the idea of getting married. Nothing sullies the very concept of marriage, destroys the meaning of the vows being said, more than that. Besides, these marriages never last.

The proper direction I find is that if two people love one another enough to want to spend the rest of their lives together then they should be allowed to be married. It is so rare to find that kind of love it would be foolish to deny the few who do just because they don't love who society says they should.
